Mantis Funding MCA Dispute, Lawsuit or Account Hold?
Agreeing on an amount does not answer every question about an MCA dispute. If your matter involves Mantis Funding, review what a proposal says about existing holds, collection activity and the obligations that remain. Business Debt Law Group can review those terms alongside your agreement and current financial situation.

The Mantis file
If a Mantis Funding matter involves an account hold or receivables disruption, the immediate concern may be access to money needed to operate. A proposed settlement amount is only part of that problem. The written terms must also explain what happens to the restriction and who is responsible for the next step.
The published Mantis Funding, LLC excerpt below makes that distinction especially clear: it proposes an $8,000 settlement but says existing holds remain in effect pending further negotiations. A business owner reading only the settlement total could miss the issue that matters most to current cash flow.
Identify the actual restriction before discussing a solution. Bring the bank or processor notice, any customer demand, the MCA UCC filing and any court order. These documents may involve different procedures; a reference to a hold does not establish how it was imposed or how it can be released.

The Mantis proposal leaves an important issue open.
The redacted agreement proposes $8,000 against a stated suit amount of $11,775, excluding additional interest, costs and attorney fees. It expressly says existing holds remain pending further negotiations. It should not be described as proof that an account was released or that the matter was fully completed.

Partial, redacted excerpt from one matter. Other pages, amendments and later events may affect these terms. This discussion does not summarize the complete agreement or case. Acceptance, completed payment, releases and the final outcome require verification from the complete records. This is not a standard offer or promised result. Past results do not guarantee a similar outcome.
Ask what will change after each payment.
For a proposed resolution, identify the affected account or receivable, the party that issued the instruction, the documents required to withdraw it, and when that action must occur. Also ask how you will confirm the bank, processor or customer received the release instruction. A promise to discuss a release later is different from a defined release obligation.
Keep the court case separate in your review. A settlement discussion does not necessarily dispose of a pending lawsuit, cancel a hearing or resolve a guarantee. The proposed agreement should explain the parties and claims it covers, the performance required and any obligations that remain.
Where does your Mantis matter stand?
MCA payments are too much
Review receipts, overlapping advances and any reconciliation request before committing to another arrangement.
Receivables or accounts are affected
Bring the actual MCA UCC, customer, processor or bank notice so the source and scope of the restriction can be assessed.
Court papers have arrived
Identify the court, parties, service details and response requirements promptly. Negotiations do not automatically extend a deadline.
Four practical first steps.
- Check for a court deadline. If you received court papers, identify where the case is filed and when a response is due. Settlement discussions do not automatically extend a deadline.
- Put the records in one place.Collect the agreement, payment history, bank statements, and every notice. Preserve emails and texts, including any proposed settlement terms.
- Review a proposed change before signing.A new agreement, acknowledgment, release, or guarantee can affect your rights and obligations. Have its terms reviewed in context.
- Discuss a plan for your actual situation.Ask which legal or negotiation options fit the documents, cash flow, and litigation status—and what representation would cost.
Mantis MCA questions, answered.
Does agreeing to a settlement amount automatically release an existing hold?
Not necessarily. The Mantis example above expressly leaves existing holds in place pending further negotiations. Your agreement needs to address the specific restriction, required action and timing; the amount alone is not enough.
What should written terms say about ending a hold?
They should identify the affected restriction, who must act, what triggers that duty and the intended timing. Any court, bank, processor or customer procedure also needs review. An attorney can assess whether the proposed terms address the actual problem.
Does the $11,775 comparison include interest and attorney fees?
The published excerpt states the suit amount separately from additional interest, costs and attorney fees. A comparison using only that amount is not a complete account of every charge potentially asserted in that matter.
