The Forward file
Forward Financing publicly offers both revenue-based financing and business loans. Those products use different payment structures, so the company name alone does not tell you whether a particular agreement is an MCA or a loan.
Forward's public materials distinguish a purchase of future revenue from a loan with a fixed repayment obligation. Begin by matching the legal entity, agreement date, product description and any later amendments to the account being collected. A demand involving an older agreement should be reviewed against that agreement, not today's marketing materials.

Build the account history before choosing a response.
Identify the obligation
Check whether the document describes purchased receipts, a loan, a guarantee or a later settlement. Separate the amount funded from the amount demanded, payments already credited and additional fees. Ask for a clear accounting of any difference.
Preserve adjustment requests
Forward's FAQs describe a customer portal and a process for contacting its servicing team about payment difficulties. Save statements, requests, supporting bank records and written responses. Your attorney can assess what your contract requires and whether a requested change was actually agreed.
Separate servicing from litigation
An account conversation and a court case are different processes. If papers have arrived, preserve the entire packet and the service details. Have the court, parties, requested relief and response deadline reviewed promptly; do not assume ongoing discussions have paused a case.
A payment adjustment and a final settlement answer different questions.
A smaller recurring payment may address immediate cash flow without resolving the total amount demanded. A settlement proposal may instead address a disputed balance, payment schedule, claims, guarantees or releases. Before agreeing to either, identify exactly what changes and what remains in place.
For an agreement involving future receipts, review the reconciliation or adjustment language alongside the actual revenue records and the communications exchanged. For a loan, review its repayment and modification terms. Neither the marketing label nor a single missed withdrawal establishes the legal outcome.
Bring any proposed release, acknowledgment, new guarantee, default provision or court stipulation to the review. Our attorneys evaluate the complete record and the business's circumstances rather than promise a standard discount or a particular result.
Four practical first steps.
- Check for a court deadline. If you received court papers, identify where the case is filed and when a response is due. Settlement discussions do not automatically extend a deadline.
- Put the records in one place.Collect the agreement, payment history, bank statements, and every notice. Preserve emails and texts, including any proposed settlement terms.
- Review a proposed change before signing.A new agreement, acknowledgment, release, or guarantee can affect your rights and obligations. Have its terms reviewed in context.
- Discuss a plan for your actual situation.Ask which legal or negotiation options fit the documents, cash flow, and litigation status—and what representation would cost.
Forward questions, answered.
Is every Forward Financing agreement an MCA?
No. Forward publicly describes more than one financing product. The signed agreement and applicable law determine the issues to review; do not assume a loan and a purchase of future receipts have identical terms.
Can BDLG review my situation before Forward files a lawsuit?
Yes. A review can address unaffordable payments, a disputed balance, a proposed modification or collection communications. You do not need to wait for court papers to ask about legal representation.
Does a discussion about payments mean a lawsuit is on hold?
Do not rely on that assumption. Ask your attorney to check the court record and any written extension, stipulation or order. Keep procedural deadlines separate from settlement discussions.
Will my matter receive the same terms as another business?
There is no standard result we can promise. Agreements, payment histories, defenses, available funds and procedural posture differ, and any negotiated terms depend on the parties' agreement.
What does the free case review cover?
The initial consultation can address your funding agreement, payment pressure, collection communications or case status. Any retained legal-service fees are separate and addressed in the engagement terms.
